If you have a complicated medical history or are currently undergoing treatment, make sure to have copies of your medical records before you arrive so that your doctor in Thailand can review them. If you’re using one of the country’s private hospitals, you should have no problems finding a doctor who speaks and reads English.

Anyone coming to Thailand should be vaccinated for hepatitis A and hepatitis B. These are routine vaccinations, and many people living in the United States get them even when they aren’t planning to travel to foreign countries. Other vaccinations usually aren’t necessary unless you will be living in a remote part of the country.
